During OIC meeting: Pakistan demands to stop Israeli military operation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday called on Israel to immediately end its terror campaign with an immediate ceasefire and lift the siege of Gaza.

Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, who led the Pakistani delegation to the abruptly ended ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Executive Committee in Jeddah, also condemned the brutal Israeli attack on innocent civilians on Tuesday. The meeting was jointly convened by Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss the Gaza crisis and the humanitarian situation of the citizens trapped there.

In his statement, Foreign Minister Jilani strongly condemned the Israeli aggression and the inhumane blockade of Gaza, which has resulted in deaths, destruction, and displacement. He emphasized that the Israeli occupation forces are committing flagrant violations of international human rights and human rights. He added that their indiscriminate and disproportionate use of force amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The foreign minister called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its crimes.

Jilani stressed that Israel must end the forced evacuation of Palestinians from their homes. He also stressed the urgent need for humanitarian corridors for the rapid, safe, and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian and aid supplies to Gaza.

The foreign minister stressed that the main reason for the recent unrest was the non-implementation of the two-state solution. He reiterated Pakistan's solidarity and support for the Palestinian people. They called for the early establishment of a viable, secure, contiguous, and independent State of Palestine based on the pre-June 1967 borders and Al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.

At the end of the meeting, the Executive Committee adopted a joint declaration outlining the collective position of the Muslim Ummah on the situation in Gaza.

On this occasion, the foreign minister also met with the foreign ministers of Gambia, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
